Ethylene- and Proline-Dependent Regulation of Antioxidant Enzymes to Mitigate Heat Stress and Boost Photosynthetic Efficacy in Wheat Plants

Ethylene regulates the photosynthetic efficiency of plants grown under challenging environments by regulation antioxidant system and other biomolecules, such as osmolytes (proline). The role ethylene in modulating proline biosynthesis subsequent changes to protect wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. WH-711) against heat stress was studied. effects exogenously sourced (as 200 µL L−1 ethephon: 2-chloroethylphosphonic acid) (50 mM) were studied protection performance tolerance studying mechanisms biosynthesis, activity gene expression antioxidants, evolution. cultivars WH-711, RAJ-3765, PBW-373, HD-2967, PBW-550, DBW-17, PBW-343, UP-2338 screened for their accumulation capacity stress. Plants cultivar WH-711 with higher subjected a temperature 40 °C 6 h per day over 15 days then allowed recover at 28 °C. These showed increased H2O2 TBARS (thiobarbituric acid reactive substances), accumulation, evolution, enzymes, reduced characteristics. Ethephon plus supplementation upregulated defense system, oxidative stress, psbA psbB photosynthesis. study’s outcome may be taken improve through ethylene-enhanced system.
